Velma and the Intruder

The Mucklewood Adventures series features three skulks of foxes: the Muckles - occupying earths and hideouts in and around Mucklewood forest; the Heaths - a breakaway from the Muckles living in the heathland behind Mucklewood forest; and the Lachens - menace urban foxes which relocated from the city to living in the outskirts of the village of Drumlachen at the hill plains to the west of Mucklewood. The Muckles and the Heaths operate within their own territory, respecting each other. The Lachens, however, have a reputation for doing as they please (or at least as much as they can get away with) including trespassing upon the territory of the Heaths and the Muckles. A territorially neutral area to the northeast of the Mucklewood forest is frequently used by the Muckles and occasionally by the Heaths to hunt for prey and carrion. This stretch of land, rarely if ever at all visited by the Lachens, is known to the other two skulks as ʻThe Common Groundʼ.
