One Word of Truth

Published to mark the 50th anniversary of Keston Institute, set up in 1969 to provide comprehensive study of religion behind the Iron Curtain, and regarded at the time by the KGB as one of the most dangerous anti-soviet organisations, One Word of Truth tells the remarkable story of Keston’s co-founder Michael Bourdeaux. Since his first book, Opium of the People, highlighted interest in the lives of persecuted believers in soviet countries, Bourdeaux and Keston have grown in influence and reputation and the author has had unique access to key developments in the granting of freedom of religious belief and practice since the late 1980s. This memoir offers a fascinating perspective on East-West church relations in the latter half of the twentieth century.
