Mettle - May-August

In the May--Aug 12 issue of Mettle, the core topic, entitled ‘Jesus, fully man, fully God’, discusses the fascinating mystery of our human, yet divine, Saviour – and how, being human, Jesus is fully able to identify with us. We have an interesting blend of ‘hot potatoes’: ‘Health’ looks at all aspects of healthy living (not just ‘cutting the carbs’) and searches out what the Bible says on the matter; ‘Fun’ takes a look at the lighter side of life and makes it clear that Christians don’t have to be ‘killjoys’, as Jesus promises to bring us joy – yet there’s a time and place both for fun and being serious; and finally ‘Discipline’ looks at the importance of discipline, especially growing in spiritual discipline and submitting to God’s discipline, and we find out that it really can be good for us!
