The Bible For Everyone

Why another translation of the Bible? As John Goldingay points out, ‘The idea of an “Old Testament for Everyone” in English goes back at least to William Tyndale, the first great figure of the English Reformation, who . . . made it his ambition to produce a translation of the Bible into English that could be printed and made available to the “boy that driveth the plough”.’ And as Tom Wright observes: ‘Translating [the bible] is something that each generation ought to be doing.
