THE APPRENTICE Elisha was faced with a daunting task – he had to follow on after Elijah, who had called down fire from heaven on a water-soaked sacrifice on Mount Carmel. Elisha knew he was to succeed Elijah but first, for a number of years, he was required to fill the role of an apprentice with all its pressures. These notes cover those initial years with Elijah, as he finds his feet, establishes his vocation and learns that the God of Elijah is his God as well.
